Description

This truly amazing three bedroom and three bathroom apartment suite is accessed through the building’s secure entrance into a large ‘hotel style’ reception lobby, with lift access to the 6th floor. The property is stunningly designed and is beautifully furnished throughout, offering wonderfully comfortable accommodation in three gorgeous bedrooms (two king beds and one super-king bed or twin) for up to six guests.
Through the apartment’s entrance hall the property opens up into a very large and chic open plan living-dining room, with a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. There are floor to ceiling windows around both sides of the room offering incredible views across the city sky-line where guests can see York’s ever-changing history through its buildings over the centuries.
There is a very sumptuous master bedroom with king sized bed and a designer high end en-suite shower-room. The second bedroom also offers a superbly comfortable king sized bed and also has the added benefit of its own en-suite designer shower-room. The third bedroom can be set with either a super-king bed or with two single beds. There is an additional family bathroom with bath and shower over. Complimentary gated parking for two cars is available on-site in private bays.

Luxury River View Apartment is located, with easy car access, in a wonderfully central part of York, wthin the city walls, overlooking Clifford’s Tower and the River Foss together with views to York Minster. It is just a few yards from much of what York has to offer. A great location for shopping, dining, relaxing and more.

Access & Departure

Your accommodation will be ready for 4.00pm but if we do not have guests leaving on the morning of your arrival then access may be earlier by prior arrangement. Check out is for 10.30am. Guests will be personally welcomed on arrival.

Car-parking

Gated parking for two vehicles is on-site.

Train

If arriving by train a taxi ride will take about 5 minutes.

FAQ

Are you open all year?

Yes! Stays can be as short as 3 nights or as many as 30 nights. Guests can arrive any available day. Please note, however, we do not accept arrivals/departures on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year's Day.

How central are the apartments?

Just a few yards walk from much of what York has to offer.

Is it noisy being in the centre of the city?

York is a bustling and busy city at any time of year as there is so much to see and do but it is rare for anyone to be disturbed by noise. Even The Minster bells are considerate and don’t ring at night! Your apartment suite is overlooking the River Foss and at 6th floor level, so is well away from passing street noise.

Are we likely to feel hemmed in?

Luxury River View Apartment is located at 6th floor level in a fantastically spacious modern building. The apartment suite has lots of natural light flooding through floor to ceiling windows in all rooms. The apartment is large, bright and airy so no-one should feel hemmed-in but should instead feel totally comfortable and relaxed.

How accessible are you by train?

York is on the main rail routes between London and Scotland with trains running a few times an hour (c.2 hrs to London and 2.5 hrs to Edinburgh). We are also served very well with trains to the west and east, as well as Manchester Airport. The apartment is just about 15 minutes’ walk from the station (although a bit too tricky with heavy suitcases over the cobbles), or a few minutes by taxi. Call 08457 225 225 for fantastic deals on LNER or Grand Central, particularly first class tickets which, when booked in advance, can be cheaper than the standard price. Advance tickets can often be purchased up to 12 weeks in advance and are cheaper than buying on the day.

If we travel by car where can we park?

Complimentary parking permit for two cars is provided on site in gated parking with private bays.

I understand York floods regularly, will we be affected?

The River Foss is close by your apartment, providing great views, and as the Foss barrier has had a top upgrade it is highly unlikely to flood in the area.

How far are the nearest airports and what is easiest transport?

From Canada & the US many flights can come in to Manchester which is nearer than London. From here it is a direct train journey of approx. 2 hours to York. We can also provide details of a local chauffeur, who we and many other guests use, as this can work out almost as cheap as train fares when there are a few travelling, and certainly more convenient. If flying into Leeds/Bradford from Europe or on the London shuttle you will need to take a taxi to Leeds railway station for a train to York or use taxi/chauffeur all the way to York.

How can we book our break?

The availability calendars are always up to date so check first that the dates you want are available by clicking on the ‘availability/search’ or ‘book’ tabs. If booking your break more than one month in advance you will be asked to pay a 40% deposit. The balance will be due one month before arrival. If arriving within a month the full amount will be required upon booking. Payment can be made by card by using our secure on-line booking page. Just click on the ‘book' tab and follow the simple process to check availability, place your booking and to pay the deposit or full amount. We accept all credit and debit cards but please note we do not accept Amex, cheques, cash or bank transfers.

What happens when we have booked?

If booking on-line you will receive an immediate auto e-mail confirming your provisional booking and the payment made. You will then receive a more detailed e-mail with full confirmation of your booking including information regarding access, directions, car-parking etc. If you have paid a deposit only, you will be sent a secure payment link approximately 5 weeks before your arrival so that your final payment can be made.

How do we get the keys?

Arrangements will be made with you closer to the date to confirm arrival time so that your host can meet you to show you around and to hand over your sets of keys, and parking fob if required.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Your apartment will be ready for around 4pm and, if no-one is leaving that morning, it may be earlier by arrangement. Check out is before 10.30am so that the apartment can be prepared thoroughly between guests. 

Do we have to clean up when we leave?

No! Many self-catering properties ask you to do this or charge separately. Obviously you are asked to respect the property and its contents, and to leave it in good order. You will need to advise of any damage during your stay. Terms and conditions apply re damage or if extra cleaning is required.

Do you accept children?

There is a minimum age of 8 years old.

Are your properties suitable for wheelchair users?

The property is at 6th floor level via a lift but we cannot guarantee that there will never be a problem with the lift for access.

Are there any restrictions?

There is strictly no smoking within the apartment or its building. Also animals/pets are not permitted. The property accommodates up to six guests, minimum age is 8 years. We also do not allow hen and stag parties, or similar, as the property is in a peaceful residential building.

Do you have any hidden charges?

No we don’t. Only excessive use of the phone may be charged (if a phone is provided for emergency calls). Also any replacement or repair costs for damage during your stay. This forms part of your terms and conditions so you are advised to ensure your house insurance protects you against damage. By making a booking you agree to pay any recompense within 4 weeks of departure. At the point of booking a non-refundable booking fee of £35 is required.

A complimentary drink and delicious Yorkshire snacks are provided for your arrival. You will also find ample tea, coffee, milk and sugar, as well as juice for children.
