Spread over three floors this marvellous home boasts four bedrooms (one super king, two double, one single bed), two bathrooms including a spacious master en-suite, separate WC on the ground floor, modern high-gloss kitchen/dining room, with smart tv, which opens onto the private patio-garden and a stunning oak-floored living room with fire and 42” tv.
Located on a very private and quiet street in an historic area of York, the property is exceptionally located for all attractions and amenities including The Minster, River Ouse and Train Station all within a few minutes walk.
Parking is on site for one car however the nearby Marygate car park can be used for those needing more parking.
Please note that there is some building works occurring at the back of the property. We have been told by the builders that while noise should be kept to a minimum by the team, there is the possibility of disturbance during usual working hours.

The accommodation itself is spread over three floors, providing ample space and comfort for families and friends alike. With a spacious bedroom on each floor there is plenty of privacy for all guests.
The main entrance leads onto a wonderful open plan dining kitchen, appointed with a high gloss finish, granite worktops and top of the range appliances. The kitchen-dining room opens onto a lovely private garden (a rarity so close to the city centre) with garden gate leading to the private parking bay. In addition to the marvellous kitchen/dining room on the ground floor, there is a spacious double bedroom and separate water closet.
The first floor contains an extremely spacious drawing / living room. With oak flooring, electric fire and a 42” flat screen this is a truly inviting space. There is a further double bedroom on this floor along with a full family bathroom providing bath with shower over.
The second floor houses the fantastically appointed master-bedroom suite with super king sized bed and a spacious en-suite with bath and shower over, including dimmable lighting to set the mood. There is a further single bedroom on this floor too.
Private parking is available on site for 1 car and there is further availability at the nearby Marygate Car Park. The property is within walking distance of most amenities including cafes, supermarkets, bakeries, restaurants, theatres and museums. The railway station is also less than a 10 minute walk away. Access and Departure
Access is normally from 3.30pm. Check out is normally for 10.00am. Guests will be personally welcomed on arrival.
Parking for one vehicle is on-site.
If arriving by train a taxi ride will take less than five minutes or ten minutes walk over the river.

Are you open all year?
Yes! Stays can be as short as 2 nights or as many as 30 nights. Guests can arrive any available day. Please note, however, we do not accept arrivals/departures on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year's Day and minimum night restrcitions apply over these periods.
How central is the property?
Less than a two minute walk from the city centre via Bootham or Museum Gardens.
Is it noisy being in the centre of the city?
York is a bustling and busy city at any time of year as there is so much to see and do but it is rare for anyone to be disturbed by noise. Even The Minster bells are considerate and don’t ring at night! The accommodation is in a residential area just outside of the city centre and is away from the city night life. Please note that there is some building works occurring at the back of the property. We have been told by the builders that while noise should be kept to a minimum by the team, there is the possibility of disturbance during usual working hours.
Are we likely to feel hemmed in?
York Mews Townhouse is a modern home spread out over three floors. There are large windows so there is plenty of natural light flooding in. The accommodation is definitely bright and airy so occupants should feel extremely comfortable and relaxed within the design led interior of the property.
How accessible are you by train?
York is on the main rail routes between London and Scotland with trains running a few times an hour (2 hrs to London and 2.5 hrs to Edinburgh). We are also served very well with trains to the west and east, as well as Manchester Airport. The property is just about a 10 minute walk from the station but easier by taxi. Call 08457 225 225 for fantastic deals on the Virgin East Coast Mainline, particularly first class tickets which, when booked in advance, can be cheaper than the standard price. Advance tickets can often be purchased cheaper than buying on the day.
If we travel by car where can we park?
Secure on-site parking is provided for one vehicle. There is also a nearby car park on Marygate.
I understand York floods regularly, will we be affected?
It has never flooded up to the building and there are emergency warning systems in place.
How far are the nearest airports and what is easiest transport?
From Canada & the US many flights can come in to Manchester which is nearer than London. From here it is a direct train journey of approx. 2 hours to York. We can also provide details of a local chauffeur, who we and many other guests use, as this can work out almost as cheap as train fares when there are a few travelling, and certainly more convenient. If flying into Leeds/Bradford from Europe or on the London shuttle you will need to take a taxi to Leeds railway station for a train to York or use taxi/chauffeur all the way to York.
How can we book our break?
If booking your break more than one month in advance you will be asked to pay a 40% deposit. The balance will be due one month before arrival. If arriving within the month the full amount will be required upon booking. Payment can be made by card by using our secure on-line booking page. Just click on the ‘book' tab and follow the simple process to check availability, place your booking and to pay the deposit or full amount. We accept all credit and debit cards but please note we do not accept Amex, cheques, cash or bank transfers.
What happens when we have booked?
If booking on-line you will receive an immediate e-mail confirming your booking and the payment made. You will then receive a more detailed e-mail with further confirmation of your booking, including information regarding address, access, directions, car-parking etc. If you have paid a deposit only, you will be sent a secure payment link approximately five weeks before your arrival so that your final payment can be made. Booking by phone will follow the same process.
How do we get the keys?
Arrangements will be made with you closer to the date to confirm arrival time so that your hosts can meet you to show you around and to hand over your keys.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Your accommodation will be ready from 3.00pm. Check out is before 10.00am so that the property can be prepared thoroughly between guests.
Do we have to clean up when we leave?
No! Many self-catering properties ask you to do this or charge separately. Everything will be spotless when you arrive, and it is the host’s job to make sure the apartment is spotless again for the next guests. Obviously you are asked to respect the property and its contents, and to leave all in good order.
Do you accept children?
Yes. Children of all ages welcome. Please keep in mind that it is a 3 story house however.
Is this property suitable for wheelchair users?
While there is a bedroom on the ground floor, the only accessible full bathrooms are on the 1st and 2nd floors. As such this property is not suitable for wheelchair users. Ther is a w.c. and sink at ground level.
Are there any restrictions?
There is strictly no smoking within property. Also animals/pets are not permitted. We also do not allow hen, stag or other such parties, as the property is in a peaceful residential area.
Do you have any hidden charges?
No we don’t. Only unauthorised use of the phone (if provided) may be charged (if a phone is provided it is for emergency calls and to contact your hosts if required). Also any replacement or repair costs for damage during your stay. This forms part of our terms and conditions so you are advised to read the terms and conditions at our website and to ensure that your house insurance protects you against damage; and you agree to pay any recompense within 4 weeks of departure.
What complimentary goodies do we get when we arrive?
A complimentary drink and delicious Yorkshire treats are provided for your arrival. You will also find fresh flowers and ample tea, coffee, milk and sugar. At an extra charge of £30 you can purchase champagne and chocolates for that special occasion.
Do you have computer access & what TV/entertainment do you have?
Complimentary wi-fi is provided throughout the apartment. There is a 42” TV in the living room and a smart TV in the kitchen-dining room. There is also a blutooth sound system
