Access Times

You can drop luggage off any time after 10.30am and we will then text/call as soon as your apartment is ready (normally mid afternoon).  Please be aware of car access restrictions below as we are in a pedestrian zone.

Stonegate Court is located on Blake Street within the historic city walls and is therefore in a conservation area and on a site of major archaeological interest.  For this reason it is largely pedestrianised so, unless you have a disabled sticker, vehicular access is restricted to certain times of day with parking limited to a short time to allow drop-off and pick-up only.  The area is closed to traffic beween 11am and 4pm on weekdays, and is closed between 10.30am and 4.30pm on Saturdays. Sunday parking is available anytime and is free all day. You can also park on Blake Street, for Stonegate Court, any day after 6pm until 8am for £2 on meters.  You can drop luggage off with us any time and we will text/call as soon as your apartment is ready.

If arriving by car, arrangements for free car parking at nearby Marygate car-park can be made (we have one permit for each apartment).  This is just a 5 minute walk from the apartments through the Mueseum Gardens off Museum Street or by car just off Bootham (see map above).  Full directions to Stonegate Court and Marygate car-park, will be sent with your booking confirmation and you can collect your permit on arrival at your apartment.

If arriving by train, Stonegate Court is approximately 5 minute walk over the river (not easy with luggage though) or 3 minutes in a taxi from York Railway Station. 

The owners, Susan or Malcolm Kitchener, will meet you on your arrival at Stonegate Court to hand over the keys for your apartment and parking permit if applicable.  As we don't live on site you will be asked to nominate an arrival time in advance.  For the reasons above, and to allow us to prepare the apartments thoroughly between guests, check-in is normally after 4pm and check-out is for 10am.  However, we are always happy to look after luggage if you want to arrive outside of these times and ofcourse if we have no change-over to manage on the day of your arrival or departure more flexibility can be built in.  All this can be arranged either at booking or nearer the date.
